Package & Benefits:

– Salary £35,000 pa. – depending on experience

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Club Manager and responsible for all Front of House operations, the Bar Manager will take pride in leading their team to deliver exceptional service and warm hospitality. You will ensure that service standards are maintained at all times and that the welcoming atmosphere of the Club is reflected in every interaction with members and their guests and visitors to the club. Due to the seasonal nature of golf, working hours are varied from summer to winter with shifts covering the club’s opening hours. You will be equally confident in managing day-to-day bar service as you are in coordinating and delivering more formal dining events of up to 80 covers and private parties and family celebrations of up to 100 guests.

Key Responsibilities

– Act as the main point of contact for members and visitors ensuring their visit is a memorable experience.

– Lead, motivate and train the team to an agreed minimum standard. Ensure appropriate levels of staff are present on the rota to suit the needs of pre-organised activities.

– Recruit temporary and permanent staff as necessary with the agreement of the Club Manager and / or Finance Committee.

– Ordering and control of stock along with regular external stock-take and cellar management. Liaising with suppliers to maintain current product offerings maximising profitability.

– Collate delivery notices and approve invoices for accuracy. Compile information for the stock-taker and be on hand to answer questions arising.

– Receive enquiries for functions, completing the enquiry to fulfilment with full details informing the relevant departments.

– Organise with the Social Committee the club’s function.

– Maintaining the public areas to a clean, tidy, and presentable standard.

– Health & safety and food hygiene regulations.

– Act as the Designated Premise Supervisor [DPS]

– Ensure the EPOS till system has the current stock items and review pricing as supplier increases are notified.

About You:

– A minimum of one year’s supervisory experience in a hospitality setting.

– Willingness to work weekends and evenings as part of the normal working pattern.

– Living within a 30-minute commute of the Club.

– An interest in golf or willingness to engage with the sport and Club culture.

– Ideally holds a Personal Licence and has experience acting as a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
