A wonderful career opportunity has arisen to appoint a new General Manager or CEO (dependent on skill-set and experience) at Chislehurst Golf Club with demonstrable financial acumen, outstanding communication skills, agronomic knowledge, and the requisite skill-set and passion to lead the club forward. 

Founded in 1894 and situated in South-East London, GCC own a James Braid designed Course and a magnificent Grade II* listed, ‘Imperial’ clubhouse (Camden Place). This creates a special atmosphere and the membership is well known to be one of the friendliest and inclusive in the region. The Club has seen significant investment on and off the course in recent years, leading to an increased reputation across Kent. We are seeking an entrepreneurial approach to help us to continue to develop and invest in the club for the benefit of the membership and optimising the opportunities that our club and clubhouse provide. These skills need to be blended with a proven track record that can bring together the different elements of club management to create a service excellence culture and a one-team mentality. 

Personal Skills & Characteristics

– Appreciation of golf and expectations/traditions of a members’ club. 

– Exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on a diplomatic style of communication and ability to relate to people of all backgrounds. 

– Strong commercial acumen with experience of growing revenue streams whilst controlling costs. 

– Superb communication and presentation skills across all platforms; must be able to command/earn respect and deal with a variety of difficult situations. 

– Inspiring a culture of service excellence and delivering a great customer experience for members and visitors alike. 

– High financial literacy and excellent IT system skills; knowledge of IG would be an advantage 

– A level of agronomic/greenkeeping knowledge that enables effective support of the course maintenance team. 

– Knowledge and experience of managing property rentals and a listed building would be an advantage 

– Up to date knowledge of employment law, HSE and other regulations, applicable to club management and small companies. 

– A flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the position, with the ability to work under pressure. 

– Educated to degree level or similar is desirable. 

Remuneration: 

An exceptional salary & benefits package, commensurate with the experience and skills of the applicant. On site accommodation could be available, if required.
