Position Overview:
In line with our forward-thinking strategies, the Club is seeking to appoint a Senior Greenkeeper with the potential to progress to the Deputy Course Manager position by the end of 2026. In this role, you will play a key part in nurturing and developing the greenkeeping team, contributing to maintenance planning, promoting environmental stewardship, and driving the continuous improvement of course conditioning.
Key Responsibilities:
– Support the Course Manager in the day-to-day running of the golf course, driving range, machinery, and greenkeeping team.
– Maintain the course to the highest standards, ensuring exceptional playability and visual appeal.
– Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing the course maintenance plan, including renovation and construction projects.
– Monitor turf health, addressing pests, diseases, moisture, and thatch issues with effective action plans.
– Operate and maintain the irrigation system to optimise efficiency and course condition.
– Lead and support the development, performance, and retention of greenkeeping staff, fostering a positive team culture.
– Promote Health & Safety compliance and contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives, enhancing biodiversity and eco-friendly practices.
About You:
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a greenkeeping or turf management environment.
– Qualified and competent in the safe use and application of pesticides (PA1, PA2 & PA6 certifications).
– Flexible and reliable approach to working hours, including weekend and early morning duties.
– Live within, or be willing to relocate to, a 30-minute commute of Northwood Golf Club.
– NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Sports Turf or equivalent qualification.
– A genuine enthusiasm for golf and an understanding of how course presentation influences the golfer’s experience.
